Hope Chaplaincy- visiting the neighbourhood

Colin is a Neighbourhood Chaplain working with Hockliffe Street Baptist Church qualified counsellor and has DBS(CRB) clearance. Colin runs a market stall every Tuesday, does community visiting and offers a counselling service. Please look out for him and give him a good welcome if he calls on your door- he is always happy to come in for a chat and a quick coffee. He is not going to preach or intrude.

The objective of the visiting is to be a good neighbour, make friends and get in touch with those who have become isolated in our community. Colin also offers a free copy of the Good News Paper and often hears comments like: “it makes a change to see some good news, this really brightened up my week”.

Neighbourhood Chaplains is a group that
believes we should all help one another.

Motivated by Jesus words to’ love your neighbour’ we want to reach out beyond the church to help build up our communities. We believe that human beings have three areas of need : mental, physical and spiritual. Only when all three of these areas are taken account of can we truly experience the peace and joy that God promises.
